CLUTTER THAT CONSUMES

5 MINUTE DEVO

You never really know what clutter you have until you start clean in it out.

Because we are moving, everything has to be gone through with a fine tooth comb…EVERYTHING!

When you do that you find what has accumulated over the years. I’ve been reminded of this sweetest parts of my life and I’ve been reminded I love to hang on to things. Same with my spiritual walk.

We’ve all accumulated things on this walk of life. It’s really made me take a deep look into the things I carry physically and spiritually. The process of moving could really weigh you down if you let it… why? Because…. it’s a weight!!  It’s heavy and we don’t even know we are still carrying years of clutter! Some clutter is spiritual, emotional and physiological. Many of us need to lay off some of those weights.  Hebrews says it best.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Man, that right there helps you clear your plate really fast.

What hinders you?

What entangles you?

What trips you up?

Are you unable to run your race with endurance?

Start looking in the corners of your life and you might find some things you’ve packed away that are weighing you down.

God can and does use everyday life to challenge us!

A simple scripture can provoke such change in our lives that we are never the same.

Identify your weights and lay them down.

You may have to do some digging to identify them all but God is great in exposing those things that we need to lay aside so we can be used for Him. What you end up with are clean rooms that are ready to be used for the Kingdom of God.

Its so refreshing to know you are a clean slate for God to fill and use.
