Transforming Trials is an amazing Bible study written by my good friends, Mason and Marina Shelton.
Week 4 Day 2 focuses on James 1:16-18
Mason and Marina’s launching pad statement: Yesterday, we saw that the believers who find themselves in humble circumstances are blessed. Today we see that the blessing comes from God, who gives all good and perfect gifts.
No one is signing up for trials these days. Quite frankly, most of us don’t believe that bad can come from God. Is it bad if it comes from God. Is it only good because everything that touches our lives comes from His hand. I have so many questions! This is how we approach the world. Many of us have questions about Gods goodness, especially in a trial.
“God determines what is good and what is not. And since God approves of everything that He does, all that God does it good”- Mason and Marina Shelton
How do we get through the most horrendous trials? We get through them by knowing God is always good!
Some take-away “one liners” I see from Mason and Marina for Week 4 day 2 are listed below:
“Here’s one thing we can do: we must recalibrate our hearts to consider “good”, that which God approves, because that is really what is objectively good.”
” We should remind ourselves that if those things are good, or if it was good to give you those good things now, God would have done so.”
