Transforming Trials
Week 1 Day 3
Transforming Trials is an amazing Bible study written by my good friends, Mason and Marina Shelton. I can’t wait to share them with you.
Week 1 Day 3 focuses on James 3:17-4:3
Are there areas in our lives that aren’t peaceable? What about gentle? Anybody deal with feeling like a hypocrite from time to time? Anybody have any quarrels or conflicts around you? This is the day! This one stings! James pulls no strings with us today!
Marina and Mason’s launching pad statement for today is: Today, we will spend some time looking at what happens when our hearts are responding sinfully.
God’s view versus ours is quite different.
Some take-away “one liners” I see from Mason and Marina for Week 1 day 3 are listed below:
-It’s about deeper desires that those items of conflict represent.
-At the heart of every conflict are two hearts that have different beliefs, different commitments, and different desires that do not align.
-We must shift from seeing the end goal of conflict as “getting the answer/relationship/thing we want” to “pleasing God”.
-In other words, battling your own flesh before you battle someone else in conflict will result in you responding in right ways!
If I had not read anything else today, the last “one liner” I shared was enough for me today! I need to battle my own flesh before I try to battle someone else’s! NOTED~!
