Transforming Trials Summer Bible Week 3 Day 4

Transforming Trials is an amazing Bible study written by my good friends, Mason and Marina Shelton.

Week 3 Day 4  focuses on James 4:11-12

Mason and Marina’s launching pad statement: Our words should be used for praise, worship, and building others up, which we discussed yesterday. We should pay careful attention to our words-our heart behind the words-when we render judgement about others.

Judging is a hot topic among Christians and Non-Christians! Do we really know what the Bible has to say about it? Do we know “all” that the Bible has to say about it? Today Mason and Marina do a phenomenal job digging into this topic in a concise way! Great Great Day!

Mason makes a statement on page seventy seven that is something we all need to keep in mind as we walk this walk with folks.  He says “I can remember moments where my “holier than thou” attitude deserved correction.  We are called to keep each other in align with the Father toward Godly living but we have to be careful in the process.

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Christians are so judgmental”

Have you ever heard the phrase, “Christians are so judgmental”? Yeah! Me too!  They go there and why we as Christians are supposed to speak truth.  Often times we speak truth alright but with a tongue that could slice and dice through steel.  We have work to do church!    A quick glance at this passage would have you believing and making your stance that in fact we are not to judge but many passages give more clarity to this. I encourage you to dive into the passages below for a deeper understanding.

 I Corinthians 5:12.

Matthew 7: 3-5.

 I Corinthians 5:5-6.

I Corinthians 13:7

Some take-away “one liners”  I see from Mason and Marina for Week 3 day 4 are listed below:

“using our words to judge or discredit another person who has what we want will only bring more hurt.  Our words and judgements put a wedge between people-the very people God may have placed in our lives to be a source of encouragement and community.  Those are the people we especially need in times of trial.  Let’ flee from theres temptations and cling to the perfect justice and comfort of God.”
