Transforming Trials is an amazing Bible study written by my good friends, Mason and Marina Shelton. I can’t wait to share them with you.

Week 2 Day 5  focuses on James 3:13-16

Marina and Mason’s launching pad statement for today is: In the past few days, we have made clear that faith is proven by works. Today, we will consider the seriousness of a lack of faith.

This is one of those sections of scripture that James is shooting it straight.  It calls us demonic! Well,  maybe not you but if you struggle with selfish ambition and jealousy,  he most certainly does call us demonic!  That kind of wisdom is not from God!  Wisdom is pure and undefiled!  Today is a tough one that we would be wise to sit with!

Does the word of God call your actions demonic?

Do you have selfish ambition?

Do you have a jealous spirit from time to time?

YES GIRL!  Yes you do!  Yes I do!

This is a hard pill to swallow but so heavy on the heart!  We have to sit with this one!  I never want to align myself with the enemy yet ambitions and jealousy do just that !!!!!

Some take-away “one liners”  I see  from Mason and Marina for Week 2 day 5  are listed below:

-James tells us that envy and selfish ambition comes directly from the gates of hell.  They are demonic.

-Find a way to get alone with God and confess to him your desires and self ambitions. Tell him about the evil thoughts you have, the things you desire that are not the the things he desires.  Confess the ways you have pursued evil. Tell him things you wouldn’t even dare tell another human being. Trust me, God already knows the things you about to share.

I am so thankful God had his half brother James write the hard things so I could understand them! Where are the dark spots of your heart James calls demonic? Shine some light on them!  Grieve over them! This is where transformation happens.
