ROOT=FRUIT

Matthew 7:17-20 (KJV)

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good true cannot bring forth even fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring for good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them.

These scriptures speak of false prophets and really give us a mirror of sorts for false teachers versus true teachers.

 False prophets do in fact produce bad fruit but these passages can be applied to each and every person.

What we produce “our fruit” will match our root!   So if I produce bad fruit, you can see from what my life produces that my tree is bad.

The same applies if I produce good fruit then the tree is said to be good.

Matthew is clear in verse twenty. By our fruits we are known.

But what about this….I spoke about this subject today on a facebook live.

It’s easy to get entangled in life with those whose fruit doesn’t match what we want to produce. Before we know it, our roots and lifestyle become wrapped so tightly with one another that our fruitfulness is choked out!  We must be careful where we plant ourselves. Over time our fruitfulness might be diminished by where we have planted ourselves.

God produces the fruit in us. It is our job to make sure the soil is prepared to bring a fruitful harvest. Pulling up weeds is an important part of gardening to reap a good harvest of fruit.

Where have you planted yourself? Are there places you have rooted yourself that’s affecting your fruitfulness?  Is your fruit good but you have planted yourself next to a bad tree or perhaps you haven’t monitored your weeds? One rotten apple spreads quickly.  One weed consumes a lot of water away from the fruit you want to produce.

I am reminded to be careful where I plant myself. My roots will grow with those I plant myself with.  It’s easy for our fruit to be choked out. It can be choked out by many things. Good food for thought today friends!   Are you flourishing and producing good fruit or is your fruit being choked out?  Ask God these hard questions!  You might be surprised the answer you receive when you ask in earnest.

What God is producing in us we are to reproduce!
